Program
Start2Cure will follow the science and take stock of the work already being done. If there is an established group that is willing and able to advance work around our focus area, we won’t duplicate efforts. However, science is showing a real need for more narrowly focused work, which is why Start2Cure is founded and focused on neurorestorative research in Advanced (progressive) MS.
Start2Cure will support MS research projects via various funding mechanisms, both independent and in collaboration with partner organizations. All grant submissions undergo rigorous peer review and are held to the strictest standards of scientific excellence. Projects will be focused on developing an intervention (therapeutic, device, or diagnostic) that will address a significant, unaddressed need for Advanced MS patients and on research that has a credible translational and development path to reaching those patients.
Start2Cure accepts applications in basic, translational, and clinical science, including collaborative “bench to bedside and back” programs. Applicants should aim for results that, after a four to five-year term, have the potential to ultimately advance neuro-restorative research and interventions in Advanced (progressive) MS and related disorders.
Start2Cure wants to build long term relationships with academia and research institutes to strengthen the International Network of Excellence and to stimulate new therapies reaching patients. As such successful research projects can reapply for additional grants to advance product development from bench to bedside.
